Stability
Written By: Ben Gibbard and Chris Walla Recorded: Spring 2001
Lyrics

Time for the final bout. Rows of deserted houses: all our stable mates are highway bound.
Give us our measly sum: getting the air inside my lungs is heavenly.

We're starting out with nothing but crippling doubt.
We'll rest easy (justified)

I've suffered a swift defeat. I'll endure countless repeats.
The gift of memory is an awful curse,
with age it just gets much worse.

But I won't mind.

Notes

An outtake from The Photo Album. This song has very rarely been played in a live setting.
The only time that I am aware of it being played was on
June 4, 2000 at Cellophane Square
in Bellingham, WA. At this show, they only played a short 4 min version of the song; a far cry
from the opus that was finally recorded.
