Note To Self
Written By: Chris Walla Recorded: May 2002 / September 2005
Lyrics
Residence, cheap wine.
There's a friend, he pulls you side to side.
To a residence, that's you, you're in your car.

Motor crash, was mine?
It was an accident, but at least I know my lines
You're on the books, Those dirty looks
thought you knew that you could
Save yourself, save yourself
Save yourself, save yourself

Save yourself for the argument
Hold your fire as your last defense
Don't turn the dial 'till the picture's bent
... 'till the picture's bent

Continually you'll find inventive ways to screw up
what seemed to be just fine.
There on the books, those dirty looks
thought you knew that you could
Save yourself, save yourself
Save yourself, save yourself now

Save yourself for the argument
Hold your fire as your last defense
Don't turn the dial 'till the picture's bent.

- I wrote this song at the end of 1998, as DCfC was gearing up to record our
second record. The original demo was done in the same breath as 'For What Reason'
at my parents' house. This version is totally complete, with new vocals, piano, keyboards
and fuzzy guitars. I hope you like it. "
